Since 1983, Buffalo GYN Womenservices has been offering women in the Buffalo, New York area quality care in a patient-oriented and soft-spoken environment.

We are a state licensed diagnostic and treatment facility. All of our physicians are friendly, non-judgmental, have a New York State license and have had years of experience in providing abortion services. Because we specialize in abortion, we can provide the best in professional care to our patients.

We provide women with safe, legal, and confidential services in a compassionate and supportive setting. In our clinic, you will encounter a staff that truly cares about your well-being.

Our counselors will discuss your decision with you, explain the procedure, and answer all of your questions. The counselor can suggest options, provide birth control information, and offer emotional support. A counselor or nurse will be in the procedure room with you to address both your physical and emotional needs. The combined expertise of our staff and physicians allow us the ability to give each woman the special care she deserves.

Our staff is dedicated to a woman's right to choose. We recognize the difficult decisions women face everyday. We will provide you with the emotional support and the educational information you need in order for you to make the best decision possible. Buffalo GYN Womenservices believes that you have the ability and the right to make your own choice about the very personal and important decision of pregnancy, and we respect and trust your choice.

Appointments
Abortion appointments can be made Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. You should be prepared to provide the following information:

  • The date of the first day of your last period.

  • A brief medical history - important medical conditions to bring to our attention include, heart problems or blood clots, seizure disorders, asthma, diabetes, current infections or STD's, and allergies to medications. We may require medical clearance before scheduling an appointment if you are under medical care.

In New York State, minors (women under 17 years of age) do not need parental consent or notification to obtain an abortion. However, our clinic encourages all minors to include a parent or an important adult in their decision making process.

Information For Patients
We give each woman confidential and personal attention, so we are mindful that there will be a wait. We try to make that wait as short as possible, however, all surgeries take time and you may be at the clinic for over 4 hours. Be assured that each and every woman receives the same high quality care.

  • If you are receiving IV sedation, you will not be able to drive for 24 hours, therefore, you must have a verifiable ride home.

  • Please remember not to use alcohol or drugs the day of or night before your appointment unless they are prescribed by a physician.

  • Because of the size of our waiting room and lack of facilities for children, we ask that you bring only one adult support person to wait with you.

Unfortunately, sometimes protesters gather in front of the clinic entrance to try to convince you to change your decision. Remember, although they have the right to be there, they cannot stand directly in front of the clinic entrance, enter our back parking lot, stop your car, or force you to speak with them. Our clinic has a state of the art security system to protect you. Just be strong and ignore their propaganda!
